Richard Farrand
Richard grew up in Minnetrista, Minnesota, surrounded by the entrepreneurial spirit of his father and uncle, who owned a variety of businesses, including a Public Insurance Firm that began in 1972. From a young age, Richard was no stranger to hard work, going door-to-door selling calendars, candles, flower seeds—basically anything people were willing to buy! His early experiences in the family businesses eventually opened the door to a career in public adjusting.
After high school, where he was a standout running back and receiver, Richard attended college in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, and Aberdeen, South Dakota. It was during this time he met his wife, Shannon, and earned a bachelor’s degree in Theology. He then pursued his master’s in Transformational Leadership from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul.
In 2000, Richard founded an e-learning company that grew into a multi-million-dollar success story. But his passion didn’t stop there. He has also served as the president of three different non-profit organizations and led life-changing men’s transformational trips to Uganda, Africa.Drawing on the skills and experiences he gained from his family's businesses, Richard transitioned into public adjusting, where he found his true calling—helping people navigate the complexities of insurance claims. This led him to create Farrand Claim Consulting, Inc., where he and his team fight to ensure policyholders get every penny they deserve after a loss.
Richard and Shannon now live in Andover, Minnesota, enjoying life with their four adult daughters. Whether he’s advocating for his clients or reflecting on his entrepreneurial journey, Richard’s dedication shines through in everything he does.
He often says, "When you file a claim with your insurance company, they send THEIR adjuster to inspect the damage—not yours. Most people don't even realize this and, in their vulnerable state, stay quiet, hoping for the best. But hope isn't enough. You deserve everything you're entitled to, and that’s where we come in—fighting to get you what you rightfully deserve."

I wish I had known that there are experts who work to advocate for the people who are in emotional turmoil after a loss. I didn’t even know this was a job! “Richard is the best resource I know to provide representation. It’s pretty simple. Your insurance company wants to pay out as little as possible in your claim and you want your damaged items repaired, replaced, or compensated at their true value. If that doesn’t necessitate the need for professional representation, I don’t know what does. Richard is your advocate.”
